The IEP Connect to Work Collective is a quarterly forum created exclusively for Accountable Bodies and organisations delivering the Connect to Work programme.
The Collective is designed to be a dedicated space for people involved in C2W to connect, collaborate and grow.
Our ambition is to build a strong community where colleagues can share best practice, learn from one another’s experiences, and engage in targeted continuing professional development (CPD).
Guest speaker : London Borough of Tower Hamlets - Dr Ballal Seddique
Dr Ballal Seddique will explore the critical relationship between employment and health, and why integrated approaches across healthcare, employment and community services are essential to improving outcomes. Drawing on frontline experience in general practice and system leadership across North East London, the session will highlight how meaningful employment can support physical and mental wellbeing, reduce health inequalities and strengthen communities. The session will also share practical examples of partnership working, including the development of Fit Note pathways, employment support within primary care, and neighbourhood-based models that connect health and work services more effectively.
About our Speaker:
Dr Ballal Seddique is a General Practitioner in Tower Hamlets and a Clinical Lead across several place-based prevention and inclusion programmes in North East London. He leads the Connect to Work programme and the Physical Activity Place Based Partnership in Tower Hamlets, and is Clinical Lead for Early Onset Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at North East London Integrated Care Board.
With extensive hospital and community experience, he brings a systems-level perspective to service design. His work focuses on neighbourhood-based models that integrate health, employment and wellbeing, tackling health inequalities through practical, community-led approaches.
The session will include practical examples of how healthcare systems, employment services and local communities can work together to improve population health outcomes, reduce economic inactivity and support people into sustainable employment.
Join us as we bring together leaders from across the Connect to Work programme to share insight, spark discussion, and help shape the future of delivery through collaboration and shared learning.
