AI in Employability Practice: Using AI Responsibly to Support Jobseekers and Learners

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the way people search for jobs, develop careers, and access support services. As employability professionals, understanding how to use AI effectively and responsibly is becoming an essential workplace skill.

This practical webinar will explore how AI tools can enhance employability provision, helping advisers, tutors, and careers professionals support learners and jobseekers more effectively. We'll examine how AI can be used to improve CVs, tailor job applications, prepare for interviews, generate learning resources, and increase productivity, while maintaining quality, accuracy, and professional judgement.

Participants will gain an understanding of effective prompting techniques and the importance of reviewing and verifying AI-generated content. The session will also explore key ethical considerations, including data protection, confidentiality, bias, transparency, and responsible AI use within an employability setting.

Recognising that AI should support rather than replace professional expertise, the webinar will highlight the critical role of human oversight when working with AI-generated outputs. Attendees will learn how to apply professional judgement, ask the right questions of their AI assistant and help learners develop AI literacy skills that are increasingly valued by employers.

Andy has employability experience gained from within management and leadership roles within industry, and within the further education sector.

Gray Mytton - Assessment Innovation Manager NCFE

Gray is part of the Research and Innovation directorate at NCFE, leading on AI and Technology. His work identifies and develops tech-based solutions that will enhance teaching, learning and assessment for the benefit of future learners. More recently, Gray has led work to develop NCFE's approach to responsible AI adoption, helping shape governance, policy and innovation strategy across the organisation. His work focuses on the safe and effective use of AI within assessment, qualification development and business operations, while contributing to wider sector discussions on the future of AI in education and assessment. Gray also leads initiatives to build AI capability across NCFE and supports the development of qualifications that help learners develop the skills needed to thrive in an AI-enabled workplace.
